Multi-Day Intuitive Defensive Shooting Pistol / Carbine
This blended Intuitive Defensive Shooting Pistol / Carbine class is a 2 day event that will expose the student to all the core principles and fundamentals of the Intuitive Defensive® Shooting Program. This course will cover Intuitive Defensive Shooting, Defensive Accuracy, The Balance of Speed & Precision, an introduction to the understanding the Body’s Natural Reactions during a Dynamic Critical Incident, understanding the integration of lateral motion and additional concepts for both handguns and carbines as time allows. Like almost all of our classes, this can be offered as a Private Training class. You can meet your instructors here.
This Course will provide the student with an understanding of true Counter Ambush training with a defensive firearm, base level defensive shooting skills and a training methodology for continuing to develop those skills.This course is designed to expose students of any experience level to an efficient method of defending themselves with both a handgun and a semi-automatic rifle during a dynamic critical incident. All of the principles and fundamentals of the Intuitive Defensive® Shooting program are applied to both platforms.

What do I need to bring for a 2 day pistol/carbine combination class?
- Lunch, snacks, plenty of water
- Defensive Pistol (if you have a red dot on your handgun, it should have a 10 yard zero)
- Backup Pistol (optional)
- 500-600 rounds of pistol ammunition
- If your handgun magazines hold 10 or less rounds bring 5 magazines. Otherwise 3 magazines should suffice.
- Strong side hip or appendix holster ONLY (quality kydex, or a similar type where the top of the holster remains open when the gun is drawn - no soft holsters - and a sturdy belt to carry your gun and gear)
- Defensive Carbine (Pistol Caliber Carbines are fine) zeroed at 50 yards (if you are unsure, please arrive early and we can check it.)
- Backup Rifle (optional)
- 3 - 4 rifle magazines
- Sling (we can provide loaner slings with some notice)
- 500 rounds rifle ammunition
- Eye and ear protection (Electronic Ear Pro recommended)
- Weather appropriate clothing including a hat
- We can provided 9mm and .223 ammunition day of class, but you will need to let us know at the time of registration
The IDC Program is a physically challenging course with a lot of activity and high round count.
IDS is based on years of constantly evolving information about how the body works and what really happens during Dynamic Critical Incidents and has been heavily influenced by the diverse group of instructors that are certified to teach it and the thousands of students who have been through courses all around the world. The program features a variety of specialty drills and training methods that the student will be able to utilize in the their own practice after the course in order to continue to develop their abilities.
