Keep in mind, although we provide the credentials you need, each state has its own process for licensing you as an instructor. Read the information and click the links for specifics for your state.
The courses that qualify you are offered by GTBR as a course block for your convenience and are as follows and include prerequisites you need, what to bring, and things to know.

NRA Certified Basic Pistol Instructor:
This is a 1 day Instructor level course, but it does have some significant prerequisites you need to be aware of.
Pre-requisites are as follows: Must have a current NRA Basic Instructor Training (The BIT will cover NRA policies, procedures, basic public speaking skills, training methods, use of a training team, training aids, organization and budget, and preparing to teach.) and complete the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Course Instructor Led Training as a student.
The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Instructor Course teaches the instructor candidate how to teach the fundamentals of handgun safety, operation, and responsible ownership to new shooters throughout the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Blended Course and the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Course Instructor Led Training.
NRA Range Safety Officer:
This 1 day course develops NRA Certified Range Safety Officers with the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations.

What to Bring
A copy (digital or print) of the above NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Instructor Led Training documents and completion certificate if you are not taking that portion of training with us.
Bring a 3 ring binder
Bring a target shooting pistol
Bring a couple hundred rounds of ammunition
*Read the Instructor materials. Know the shooting fundamentals taught in those materials. Practice your qualifications BEFORE you come.
This course block is not a preparatory seminar. Successful completion of the minimum course block will certify you as an NRA Trainer in the NRA Basic Pistol Instructor Discipline. It will provide you with the NRA instructor certification needed to teach the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Instructor Led Training Course and the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Blended Course. With the NRA Range Safety Officer Course, you will be certified as an NRA Range Safety Officer.
Before you get Concealed Carry Instructor training, make sure your instructors are current NRA certified trainers. NRA Training Counselors train NRA Instructors. NRA Instructors train students. If you are in doubt, ask to see your Training Counselor's current certification to verify his Training Counselor credentials. If your trainer is not an NRA Training Counselor they cannot certify you as an NRA Instructor.
Arkansas Concealed Handgun Permit Instructor requirements:
Rule 14.2 Application for approval of registration
(a) The burden shall be on the Firearms Safety Training Instructor applicant for registration to bring himself or herself within the Department requirements as set out below. The applicant for registration is required to:
(1) Continuously meet the qualification requirements set forth in Arkansas law for a person to be licensed to carry a concealed handgun;
(2) Within six (6) months of application, successfully complete the examination administered by the Department. The examination shall consist of the provisions of ACA §§ 5-73-101 et seq., federal firearms laws, enhanced training topics, and these Rules;
(3) Hold a firearms instructor training certificate from a department recognized instruction course;
(4) Offer enhanced training; and (5) Submit:
(A) A properly completed registration application;
(B) The background check fees required for state and national background checks; and
(C) One (1) set of legible, classifiable fingerprints.
(b) Department recognized firearms instructor training certificates include:
(1) Firearm instructor's certificate issued by the Arkansas Law Enforcement Standards and Training Commission;
(2) Completion of a Certified Pistol Instructor Course that is recognized by the Department and completion of a Range Officer Safety Course that is recognized by the Department; or
(3) Firearm instructor's certification issued by a federal law enforcement or military agency.
